Guaro and Passionfruit

Wallace Barker

to attend to the reality of yr situation
all the demands emails phone calls
texts and debits yr not

to ignore them and boogie board
drink pilsen beer afterward note
a mild sunburn along the gold coast

little dirt-colored crabs scuttling
everywhere new construction on the cliff
overlooking playa pan azucar

garlic fried red snapper and
ceviche tico felt like maybe not
maybe there are no more phones

no more laptops work trousers
button-up shirts balding men
demanding financial reports

just the surfers at tamarindo and their
pretty girlfriends with expensive cameras
